New York City FC have tabled an ambitious proposal to sign Christian Pulisic, offering the United States international €10 million per season over a five-year deal. The MLS club hope to secure the winger as a marquee addition, but AC Milan have dismissed any possibility of a transfer this summer.
The Athletic confirms that several other MLS sides are prepared to submit offers should Milan indicate a willingness to negotiate. However, the Serie A outfit have made clear that Pulisic is unavailable for purchase during the current window.
Contract structure
Milan hold a commanding position in negotiations. Pulisic’s existing deal runs until June 2027, though the club possess a unilateral option to extend those terms by an additional year until 2028.
Officials have been attempting to secure a new long-term agreement with the 26-year-old in recent months, but no deal has been finalised. The presence of the extension clause ensures the Rossoneri face no immediate pressure to sell, even without a fresh contract in place.
Tournament focus
Discussions are expected to remain on hold while Pulisic concentrates on international duty. He is presently occupied with the World Cup alongside his USMNT teammates and will not engage with transfer matters until the tournament concludes.
Since arriving from Chelsea, Pulisic has established himself as a regular starter for the Italian side. With the club actively seeking to extend his stay rather than terminate it, the player appears set to remain at San Siro for the foreseeable future despite the lucrative approach from New York.
