Serie A newcomers Venezia have officially completed the signing of right-back Thierry Rendall Correia from Valencia on a free transfer, while advancing negotiations to secure Sparta Prague striker Albion Rrahmani for a reported fee of €9.5 million.

Correia commits to Lagunari

The 22-year-old Portuguese defender arrives without a transfer fee after leaving Valencia, penning an initial one-year contract at the Pier Luigi Penzo Stadium. The agreement includes an option to extend should the club avoid relegation from Serie A this season.

Correia expressed enthusiasm about the move, telling the club’s official website: “I chose to join Venezia FC because I believe the club has a great project. The city and the environment here are fantastic, and I see this as the ideal place to continue my development, keep progressing in my career, and help the team achieve great things this season.”

Rrahmani talks at advanced stage

While Correia’s arrival is confirmed, Venezia are finalising terms with Sparta Prague for Kosovo international Albion Rrahmani. The 26-year-old forward is expected to command a base fee of €7.5 million, with an additional €2 million available in performance-related bonuses. The deal also includes a sell-on clause entitling the Czech club to a portion of any future transfer fee.

The striker’s arrival would strengthen a squad preparing for life in the top flight following their Serie B title triumph last season.

Oristanio departs for Torino

Venezia are also trimming their roster, with midfielder Gaetano Oristanio poised to join Torino. The 22-year-old Italian is set to move on a season-long loan arrangement that includes an option for the Turin club to make the transfer permanent at the campaign’s conclusion.

Oristanio spent the previous campaign on loan at Parma and had also attracted interest from Cagliari during the current window.

Squad rebuilding continues

The Venetians are working swiftly to reinforce their squad following promotion. The capture of Correia addresses defensive needs, while the potential addition of Rrahmani would provide attacking reinforcements as they prepare to compete at the higher level.

Managerial staff will hope these additions provide the necessary quality to maintain their top-flight status beyond the current campaign.
