AS Monaco have confirmed that Kassoum Ouattara has completed a transfer to Turkish Süper Lig side Beşiktaş. The France youth international has signed a four-year contract with the Istanbul club.
The 21-year-old left-back’s departure marks the second exit from Monaco’s full-back ranks within days, following Caio Henrique’s move to Ajax Amsterdam. Henrique’s transfer had created uncertainty over Ouattara’s future, with the Frenchman having served as the Brazilian’s understudy during the previous campaign. Despite the opportunity to compete for a starting berth, Ouattara has chosen to continue his career in Turkey.
Ouattara arrived at the Stade Louis II from SC Amiens in November 2023. Over the subsequent 18 months, he accumulated 57 appearances for the Monégasques, contributing one goal and seven assists. The move to Beşiktaş represents his first experience of football outside France.
Monaco secure Nazinho as replacement
Monaco have acted quickly to replenish their defensive options by signing Nazinho from partner club Cercle Brugge. The Portugal youth international has joined for a fee understood to be €5 million, according to Get French Football News.
The recruitment of Nazinho provides immediate cover at left-back following the double departure of Henrique and Ouattara. The Portuguese defender arrives from Monaco’s Belgian affiliate, with whom the Ligue 1 side maintain a formal partnership.
For Beşiktaş, the acquisition of Ouattara offers a young defender with proven experience in one of Europe’s major leagues. The Turkish club have secured the 21-year-old on a long-term contract as they look to strengthen their squad ahead of the new campaign.
