Serie A side Como have started trimming their squad following Champions League qualification, with defender Felipe Jack completing a loan move to Cremonese while negotiations advance for the permanent exits of Ivan Azon and Yannik Engelhardt.

Confirmed departure and active talks

Jack has joined Serie B club Cremonese on loan for the remainder of the campaign, marking the first official exit in what promises to be a busy summer at the Stadio Giuseppe Sinigaglia.

Meanwhile, Southampton are holding formal discussions to sign striker Ivan Azon on a permanent basis, according to transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano. The Premier League club hope to secure the 23-year-old Spanish forward for a fee between €9 million and €10 million. That figure would represent a significant profit for Como, who paid just €2 million to acquire Azon from Real Zaragoza in February 2025 despite the player never making a competitive appearance for the club. Azon spent the 2024-25 season on loan at Ipswich Town.

German midfielder Engelhardt also looks set to depart after attracting concrete interest from abroad. Romano reports that Club Brugge have submitted an offer of approximately €10 million, while Bundesliga outfit SC Freiburg have tabled a bid closer to €8 million. Como purchased Engelhardt from Fortuna Dusseldorf for €8 million in 2024 and subsequently loaned him to Borussia Mönchengladbach last season.

Recruitment drive continues

The outgoing activity follows a recruitment spree designed to prepare Cesc Fabregas’s squad for Champions League football. Como finished fourth in Serie A last term and reached the Coppa Italia semi-final, earning a place in Europe’s premier competition.

The club has already secured the services of Luis Milla from Getafe, Brazilian full-back Kaiki from Cruzeiro, and Barcelona youth graduate Andres Cuenca. With the squad now requiring reduction to meet registration limits and playing-time expectations, further departures are anticipated in the coming weeks.
