Atletico Madrid are simultaneously monitoring Hjulmand, the Denmark international who currently captains Sporting CP. The 25-year-old previously played for Lecce in Serie A before moving to Portugal.
Hjulmand has also featured on Milan’s transfer shortlist, with a significant connection strengthening that link. The midfielder played under Ruben Amorim at Sporting CP, and Amorim has since taken over as Milan head coach.
