Bayern Search for Left-Wing Reinforcement

Bayern Munich are reportedly looking to strengthen their left-wing options, with a focus on bringing in a young player to provide both backup and competition for Colombian international Luis Díaz. The German champions have identified a four-man shortlist of promising wingers, according to recent reports.

Leading Target: Oskar Pietuszewski

At the top of Bayern’s reported shortlist is Oskar Pietuszewski from FC Porto. The 18-year-old Polish winger has reportedly impressed Bayern’s scouting department since joining Porto in January from Polish side Jagiellonia Białystok. Pietuszewski is understood to have a release clause of €60 million in his current contract.

Other Potential Signings

Also on Bayern’s radar is 18-year-old Rio Ngumoha from Liverpool. Bayern previously showed interest in the Liverpool youngster last summer and were reportedly prepared to offer €72 million, though Liverpool were unwilling to sanction a move at the time. Ngumoha is under contract until 2028, suggesting the situation could evolve next summer.

RB Leipzig’s 21-year-old Antonio Nusa is another player being considered. Bayern board member Max Eberl is reportedly a significant admirer of Nusa. A potential move for Nusa is expected to be costly, possibly exceeding the fees associated with Pietuszewski or Ngumoha.

The youngest player on the reported list is 17-year-old Wael Mohya from Borussia Mönchengladbach. Mohya recently received his first senior call-up for Germany, and Bayern have reportedly been in contact with his representatives for some time.

Context and Current Situation

Bayern’s search comes as Luis Díaz is currently sidelined. In his absence, Alphonso Davies has been deployed on the left wing, with Nathaniel Brown also a potential option for upcoming matches. The club’s focus appears to be on securing a long-term solution to bolster their attacking depth on the left side.
