Besiktas have tabled an offer worth €18 million plus €2 million in add-ons for Arsenal winger Leandro Trossard, according to Turkish transfer specialist Yagiz Sabuncuoglu. The Istanbul club may subsequently abandon negotiations for Sassuolo forward Armand Laurienté, having encountered firm resistance over the Italian club’s valuation demands.

Trossard Offer Submitted

Vincenzo Italiano, who recently took over the Turkish side, is actively seeking wide attacking reinforcements to execute his preferred tactical system. The coach had identified both Trossard and Laurienté as viable candidates to strengthen his forward line, though officials will sanction only one permanent signing during this transfer window. This exclusivity has forced Besiktas to prioritise the more economically viable option.

The Belgium international presents an attractive proposition due to his contractual situation. Trossard’s current agreement at the Emirates Stadium expires at the end of the forthcoming season, forcing Arsenal into a decisive position regarding the 31-year-old’s future. Failure to secure a transfer fee this summer would result in the player departing on a free transfer in 12 months. Trossard is currently unavailable for immediate discussions, however, as he represents Belgium at the ongoing 2026 World Cup.

Laurienté Pursuit Stalls

Besiktas’s pivot towards Trossard follows a breakdown in price negotiations with Sassuolo. The Italian club are demanding between €25 million and €30 million for Laurienté, whereas Besiktas’s proposals have remained closer to the €20 million threshold. This significant financial gap of at least €5 million has prompted Italiano’s side to concentrate resources on securing the Premier League attacker instead.

Arsenal Face Decision

The proposed deal structure for Trossard totals approximately €20 million, a figure that would allow Arsenal to recoup value from a player entering the final year of his contract. Should the London club accept these terms, Besiktas will immediately terminate their interest in Laurienté and proceed solely with the Belgian’s transfer.

Resolution may prove slow given Trossard’s international commitments, with any medical examinations or personal terms discussions likely postponed until Belgium conclude their World Cup participation. The coming weeks will determine whether Arsenal are willing to accept the Turkish club’s valuation or risk losing the asset without compensation next summer.
