FC Kaiserslautern have terminated Faride Alidou’s contract, enabling the 24-year-old attacker to complete a permanent transfer to Holstein Kiel. The Hamburg native has signed a one-year deal with the Storks that runs until 2027, with the club holding an option to extend the arrangement for a further 12 months.

The contract termination clears the path for Alidou to depart the Red Devils after a spell that included temporary football elsewhere during the previous campaign. The forward spent the second half of last season on loan at fellow second-tier side Eintracht Braunschweig, where he featured in nine 2.Bundesliga matches and scored twice.

Fresh start in northern Germany

Holstein Kiel have moved to bolster their attacking ranks by securing the former Germany Under-21 international on a deal that provides flexibility for the club. The initial one-year term runs through to June 2027, with the extension option allowing the northern German outfit to retain Alidou’s services for an additional season should the arrangement prove successful.

The transfer represents a definitive exit from Kaiserslautern for the player, who now joins Holstein Kiel as they assemble their squad for the forthcoming campaign. The permanent switch follows the mutually agreed termination of his previous agreement, allowing Alidou to reset his career trajectory at a new destination.

Proven second-tier experience

Alidou arrives with substantial experience of Germany’s second division. Across spells with three different clubs, he has accumulated 55 appearances in the 2.Bundesliga, providing him with a solid understanding of the division’s competitive demands.

His recent loan spell at Braunschweig offered valuable match practice during the latter stages of the season, yielding two goals from nine outings. According to valuation site Transfermarkt.com, the attacker currently carries a market value of €800,000.

The move offers Alidou the chance to establish himself as a regular fixture at Holstein Kiel during the upcoming campaign. With the extension clause in place, a strong first year could secure his long-term future at the club beyond the initial contract period.
