Paris Saint-Germain are prepared to sell teenage forward Ibrahim Mbaye after relations deteriorated sharply between the player and the French champions, demanding in excess of €50 million for the 18-year-old Senegalese international.
The Ligue 1 side have lost patience with the Trappes-born winger’s conduct and are now willing to cash in despite his status among the most promising talents in his age bracket. According to journalist Romain Molina, Mbaye’s standing has plummeted due to repeated breaches of professional standards. The forward has reportedly arrived late for training on multiple occasions and gained weight through poor dietary habits, prompting the coaching staff to demote him in the squad hierarchy.
Those close to the player have allegedly contributed to the problem, with his entourage fueling a growing ego that has clashed with PSG’s internal culture.
Family friction and representation change
The breakdown has been exacerbated by tension involving his father. PSG advisor Luis Campos allegedly holds the parent responsible for media leaks that have disrupted the dressing room. The father reportedly made ambitious comparisons between his son and Barcelona star Lamine Yamal, declaring the teenager superior to Ousmane Dembélé and questioning his lack of playing time.
In response to the crisis, Mbaye has ended his parents’ management of his career and reportedly signed with Portuguese super-agent Jorge Mendes, despite having no prior relationship with him. This switch signals a probable push for an immediate departure rather than a reconciliation with the club.
Transfer interest and valuation
The striker is attracting significant interest across Europe. RMC Sport reports that Chelsea, Manchester City, Liverpool, Tottenham, Borussia Dortmund and Bayer Leverkusen have all made enquiries. Liverpool, City and Chelsea have tracked the player for some time, while Mbaye had previously expressed interest in joining Aston Villa. That option now appears complicated after Mendes facilitated Alejandro Garnacho’s move to the Midlands club instead.
PSG’s valuation exceeds €50 million. There is some discrepancy regarding his recent playing time, with one report suggesting he made 31 appearances during the 2025-26 season while Molina claims he featured just 11 times in 2026 after falling out of favour.
With disciplinary concerns mounting and a new agent steering negotiations, the 18-year-old appears increasingly likely to leave Paris before the transfer window closes.
