Inter Milan are considering a formal offer for Chelsea defender Trevoh Chalobah after the Premier League club rejected a €30 million approach from Serie A rivals Como, according to Sky Sport Italia.

The defending Italian champions have identified the England international as a defensive target following the collapse of their move for Marco Palestra, who opted to join Chelsea instead. The Blues value Chalobah, who can operate at centre-back or in midfield, at €35 million.

Como submitted a formal proposal worth €30 million including add-ons, but Chelsea dismissed the bid. Inter are now assessing whether to table an opening offer that meets the London club’s valuation.

Right flank priority

Inter’s recruitment drive extends to the right wing-back position, with Union Saint-Gilloise’s Anan Khalaili emerging as the primary target.

Transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio reports that the Nerazzurri have held positive discussions with the 21-year-old’s representatives in recent days. The Belgian side are expected to demand at least €25 million to sanction his departure.

Squad reinforcements

The potential move for Chalobah reflects Inter’s desire to bolster their defensive options ahead of the new campaign. The club had initially pursued Palestra to strengthen their backline, but the prospective signing opted to join Chelsea instead, leaving the Serie A champions to explore alternatives.

Chalobah progressed through the Chelsea ranks and has represented England at senior level. His ability to feature in both central defence and midfield positions offers tactical flexibility, though Chelsea’s firm €35 million valuation suggests negotiations may prove protracted unless Inter meet the asking price outright.

Should Inter secure Khalaili’s signature, the 21-year-old would address their need for width on the right flank. The club must now decide how to allocate resources between their defensive targets as they prepare for the season ahead.
