Petar Sucic’s standout performances for Croatia at the World Cup have triggered interest from Real Madrid and several Premier League clubs, with the Inter midfielder’s valuation reportedly soaring past €50 million just a year after arriving in Serie A.
The 21-year-old enhanced his reputation considerably during Croatia’s campaign in North America, providing an assist against England and scoring against Ghana before Zlatko Dalic’s side were eliminated by Portugal. Croatian outlet Večernji, as cited by CalcioMercato, reports that Dalic now regards Sucic as indispensable to the national team’s future midfield once the Luka Modrić era concludes.
That international prominence has attracted attention from some of Europe’s wealthiest clubs. Real Madrid are monitoring the situation, while multiple Premier League teams have also registered interest in the former Dinamo Zagreb talent.
Rapid appreciation
Inter invested €15 million to secure Sucic’s signature from Dinamo Zagreb twelve months ago, but his market value has already climbed to between €50 million and €60 million according to the same reports. Such a steep rise reflects both his World Cup contributions and a productive first season in Italy.
Despite being signed as a developmental prospect, Sucic featured 50 times across all competitions for the Nerazzurri during the 2024-25 campaign, registering four goals and four assists. He has established himself as a versatile option in midfield while adapting to the demands of Serie A football.
Inter’s strong position
Any potential suitors face a significant obstacle in securing Sucic’s services. The Croatian is contracted to Inter until June 2030, earning €1.5 million net per season, placing the Italian club under no financial pressure to sell.
Inter view the midfielder as a long-term investment intended to deliver both sporting returns and future profit. With Sucic tied to a lengthy deal and his valuation escalating, prospective buyers would need to meet the Nerazzurri’s substantial asking price to force negotiations.
For now, Sucic remains firmly in Milan, though his elevated status on the international stage suggests the coming transfer windows will bring persistent speculation regarding his future.
