Official Line-ups Confirmed
Inter have confirmed their starting line-up for today’s Serie A clash against Parma, with Hakan Calhanoglu making a significant return to the midfield. The visitors, Parma, will be under the guidance of new coach Alberto Gilardino for the first time.
The match is scheduled to kick off at 17:00 UK time (18:00 CEST).
Inter’s Team News
The Nerazzurri will see Pio Esposito and Marcus Thuram lead the attack, a partnership chosen as Lautaro Martinez was recently in Argentina for Lionel Messi’s farewell match. On the bench, Djed Spence is included in the squad for the first time since his arrival from Tottenham Hotspur.
Inter, who entered the international break as joint leaders alongside Roma and Lazio, are managing a few injury concerns. Curtis Jones is sidelined for three weeks with an adductor injury, joining John Stones on the treatment table. However, Federico Dimarco has recovered and is available after missing Italy duty, while Calhanoglu returns following a lengthy lay-off.
With Champions League fixtures approaching and many players having travelled globally for international duty, squad rotation is expected to be a key factor for Inter.
- Inter Starting XI: J Martinez; Pavard, Bisseck, Carlos Augusto; Diouf, Sucic, Calhanoglu, Mkhitaryan, Dimarco; P Esposito, Thuram
Parma Debut Under Gilardino
Parma arrive at San Siro with a new face in the dugout, as club legend Alberto Gilardino takes charge for his debut match. Gilardino, who played for Parma between 2002 and 2005, steps in after the club parted ways with coach Carlos Cuesta.
Cuesta’s departure came despite a crucial victory over Genoa before the international break, a decision made after Parma had secured just one point in their opening four Serie A rounds.
The visitors will be without Pontus Almqvist, who sustained a calf strain while on international duty. Abdoulaye Ndiaye and Hans Nicolussi Caviglia are also unavailable. Parma’s line-up suggests a 3-4-2-1 formation, with El-Bilal Toure and Giovanni Fabbian supporting Nesta Elphege in attack.
- Parma Starting XI: Corvi; Delprato, Diego Carlos, Troilo; Carboni, Sierro, Keita, Valeri; Touré, Fabbian; Elphege
