Colombian international James Rodriguez, a free agent, is reportedly on the verge of a surprising return to European football with a move to Italian Serie B side Avellino. Reports from Spain indicate that advanced negotiations are underway between the 35-year-old midfielder and the club, managed by former AC Milan defender Alessandro Nesta.
