Paris Saint-Germain have rejected an opening offer from Juventus for forward Randal Kolo Muani, though the Italian side remains confident of reaching an agreement. The Ligue 1 champions dismissed a proposal worth €33 million, maintaining their valuation of €40 million for the France international.
Juventus are prioritising the signing of a senior centre-forward following the departure of Dusan Vlahovic, whose contract expired on 30 June. The Serbian’s exit leaves a significant gap in the attack. While the club has invested in the future by securing 19-year-old talent Jeff Ekhator from Genoa for €18 million, a deal which included add-ons and saw Next Gen player David Puzcka move in the opposite direction, they view the experienced Kolo Muani as the immediate solution to lead the line. The Frenchman previously demonstrated his suitability for Serie A during a loan spell in Turin, netting eight goals in 16 league appearances during the second half of the 2024-25 campaign.
Player Keen on Return
Kolo Muani is not part of manager Luis Enrique’s plans for the upcoming season. After his loan to Juventus ended, a permanent move collapsed last summer amid strained relations between the clubs, leading the 26-year-old to spend the 2025-26 season on loan at Tottenham Hotspur instead.
However, circumstances have shifted. The striker is reportedly eager to return to Italy and is prepared to reduce his salary to facilitate the transfer. Juventus’s new chief executive has been tasked with repairing the relationship with PSG following last summer’s breakdown in talks, and recent negotiations suggest progress is being made.
Financial Gap Narrowing
The initial Juventus offer comprised a loan arrangement with an option or obligation to buy at €33 million. PSG are demanding €40 million. Reports indicate both parties believe a compromise is possible, with a final fee potentially settling between €36 million and €37 million.
Any deal is expected to include a conditional obligation to buy, likely triggered by Juventus securing qualification for the Champions League. With the player pushing for the move and excluded from plans in Paris, the Bianconeri believe they can bridge the financial gap and secure Kolo Muani’s signature before the window closes.
