Valuation gap complicates Lecce pursuit

Italian side Lecce have emerged as frontrunners to sign Scotland Under-21 striker Robbie Ure, though a significant gap between their bid and IK Sirius’s asking price threatens to derail the move. The Swedish club are demanding approximately €4 million plus add-ons and a sell-on percentage for the 22-year-old centre-forward. Lecce’s current proposal stands at €1.8 million with a 20 to 25 per cent share of any future sale.

Ure is open to the prospect of playing in Serie A at the Stadio Via del Mare. However, closing the deal will require Lecce to substantially improve their offer or risk losing the player to rival suitors.

European clubs circle

The former Rangers academy graduate has attracted widespread interest despite only moving to Sweden in March 2025. Celtic, OGC Nice, TSG Hoffenheim, FC Lorient and RC Strasbourg have all registered interest in the striker, creating a competitive market for his signature.

The competition extends across several major leagues. French sides OGC Nice, FC Lorient and RC Strasbourg are monitoring developments, while German club TSG Hoffenheim and Scottish champions Celtic also feature among the interested parties. This broad interest suggests Ure’s potential is recognised beyond Italy, giving IK Sirius confidence in holding out for their asking price.

From Glasgow to Sweden

Ure’s progression through European leagues has marked him as an emerging attacking prospect. After developing in the Glasgow Rangers academy, he spent time with Belgian second-tier side RSCA Futures before switching to IK Sirius in March 2025. His short stint in Swedish football has already attracted significant attention from clubs across five different countries.

What happens next

With multiple clubs monitoring the situation, IK Sirius hold a strong negotiating position. Lecce must decide whether to meet the €4 million valuation or risk seeing Ure join a competitor. The Scottish youth international’s willingness to relocate to Italy offers the Serie A side an advantage, but only if they can align their financial offer with Sirius’s demands.
