Frosinone goalkeeper Lorenzo Palmisani has been recognised as the best-performing Italian player in Serie A Week 5, following a standout display that helped his side secure a 2-0 victory over Como.
Despite his impressive form, the 22-year-old shot-stopper is not currently part of Roberto Mancini’s senior Italy squad, highlighting the depth of talent available to the national team manager.
Palmisani’s Stellar Performance
Palmisani was instrumental in Frosinone’s win against Como, keeping a crucial clean sheet. His performance earned him an 8.5/10 rating from Sky Sport Italia, a testament to his heroics between the sticks. He notably thwarted several one-on-one attempts from Como forwards Moise Kean and Nico Paz, ensuring Frosinone collected all three points.
The victory was one of the most eye-catching results of the weekend, contributing to Frosinone’s strong start to the season. The club now sits on 10 points, alongside Juventus and Como, in a tightly contested Serie A table.
National Team Aspirations
While Palmisani’s club form is undeniable, he faces stiff competition for a spot in the Italy national team. Gianluigi Donnarumma, Marco Carnesecchi, Guglielmo Vicario, and Massimo Pessina are currently ahead of him in the pecking order for the Azzurri.
