Bayern Munich forward Luis Diaz has voiced strong confidence in his ability to end a recent scoring drought, despite a challenging start to the new season. The Colombian international has found the net just once in six appearances for the German champions this term, a stark contrast to his prolific debut campaign.

Last season, Diaz was a standout performer, registering an impressive 26 goals and 23 assists across 51 games. His current form, which includes a four-game barren run in front of goal, has prompted the 29-year-old to reaffirm his commitment to the team and his personal ambition.

Diaz’s Determination to Return to Form

Speaking to Sky Germany, Diaz underlined his unwavering desire and work ethic. “I will always give everything I have and do everything for the team, giving 101 percent on the pitch,” he stated, emphasising his dedication to overcoming this period. He also highlighted his inherent drive, adding, “The hunger for more – that will always be my mentality. I always want more, I always want to achieve more.”

Diaz expressed a clear conviction that his goal-scoring touch would soon return. He believes that his best form is within reach and that a goal is imminent. “I’m looking for my best version and I’ll find it soon. I believe that goal will come in the next game,” he added. He also stressed the importance of maintaining mental composure, stating that players must “stay calm, mentally, so that it doesn’t weigh on you. You have to keep working and improving.” For Diaz, the issue is primarily about converting opportunities. “I know it’s just about finishing my chances. The only thing missing is the finishing, and then everything will be good.”

Hoping for a Breakthrough Against Union Berlin

The upcoming fixture against 1. FC Union Berlin presents an opportunity for Diaz to break his duck. The forward is particularly keen to score against Union, a team against whom he netted a memorable goal last season. His spectacular strike against them was recognised as the 2025 Goal of the Year in Germany, a moment he clearly cherishes.

Recalling that spectacular effort, Diaz described it as one of the best goals of his career, evoking memories of playing street football as a child. He noted, “That was a street football goal. And I really enjoy watching that goal.” This positive association with Union Berlin could provide the psychological boost needed for him to rediscover his scoring touch and contribute significantly to Bayern Munich’s campaign.
