ESTAC Troyes have officially confirmed the transfer of Mathys Detourbet to Manchester City. The 19-year-old midfielder departs the Ligue 1 side for the Premier League champions in a deal understood to be worth €25 million.

City Group transfer confirmed

The French club announced the move, marking the latest transaction between entities within the City Football Group umbrella. Detourbet joins Manchester City from Troyes, with whom they share ownership ties.

Detourbet established himself as a pivotal figure during the recent campaign, registering four goals and seven assists across 27 appearances in all competitions. His creative contributions proved instrumental in Troyes securing promotion back to Ligue 1 after a season in the second tier.

The playmaker developed through the youth system at his hometown club and had attracted significant interest before Manchester City secured his signature. The transfer fee has not been officially disclosed, though L’Équipe understands the deal to be worth €25 million.

Immediate Monaco loan agreed

Despite the substantial investment, Manchester City do not appear to have immediate plans to integrate Detourbet into the first-team squad. Instead, the teenager is expected to spend the forthcoming season with AS Monaco.

The Ligue 1 outfit have secured his services on a loan basis, with the French publication reporting that the agreement includes a purchase option that could make the move permanent. This structure suggests Manchester City view the Frenchman as a long-term prospect while allowing him to continue developing at a competitive level.

Troyes did not reveal the duration of Detourbet’s contract with Manchester City. Monaco will hope to benefit from his attacking contributions in the final third, where he demonstrated particular effectiveness during his breakthrough campaign.
