Napoli and Tottenham Hotspur are weighing up a potential exchange involving goalkeepers Vanja Milinkovic-Savic and Guglielmo Vicario. The proposed swap would address immediate squad needs at both clubs while helping the Italian side navigate Financial Fair Play regulations.
The Partenopei have determined that Alex Meret will serve as their first-choice stopper next season, leaving Milinkovic-Savic on the periphery. According to Corriere dello Sport, the Serie A outfit must offload players before registering any new acquisitions due to strict FFP constraints. An exchange deal would therefore satisfy economic demands whilst providing immediate sporting benefits.
Milinkovic-Savic has previously been offered to Championship sides Hull City and Leeds United, but the Serbia international appears reluctant to drop down to the English second tier. A switch to the Premier League with Tottenham would represent a more suitable destination for the shot-stopper.
Vicario’s Serie A return
Vicario, who previously established himself at Empoli, is eager to return to Italy following his spell in North London. Juventus have also been mentioned as potential suitors for the goalkeeper. However, Napoli offers a viable alternative where he could compete with Meret for the starting position. Spurs are reportedly ready to sanction his departure this summer.
