Paris Saint-Germain have secured the signature of Italy youth international Alessandro Longoni. The 18-year-old goalkeeper arrives as a free agent following his departure from AC Milan and has committed to the French champions for the next five years.
Longoni joins on free transfer
The Como-born teenager is viewed as one of Italy’s most promising young goalkeepers. He will wear the number 16 shirt at the Parc des Princes as he begins this new chapter in his fledgling career.
Squad role and development plan
Longoni is expected to split his time between the senior setup and the club’s U19 Espoirs side. Reports indicate he will train regularly with the first-team group whilst gaining valuable match experience with the youth team.
This pathway offers the young shot-stopper exposure to elite-level coaching and the demands of top-flight football, even if competitive appearances at senior level remain limited during the initial stages of his contract.
The move follows PSG’s decision to loan third-choice goalkeeper Renato Marin to CD National in Portugal for the season. Marin’s temporary departure to the Portuguese second tier created the necessary space in the squad for Longoni to join the goalkeeping ranks.
Goalkeeping hierarchy
For the 2026-2027 campaign, PSG are expected to rely on Matvey Safonov as their first-choice goalkeeper. France international Lucas Chevalier will serve as his deputy, leaving Longoni to provide additional depth as he continues his development.
