Sky Sports reports that Paris Saint-Germain have reached an agreement in principle with Barcelona forward Ferran Torres. However, L’Équipe understands the transfer will only proceed if a senior attacker leaves the French champions, with Bradley Barcola the most likely candidate.

Torres agreement conditional on departure

The 26-year-old Spaniard, who previously played for Manchester City, has entered the final months of his contract at the Camp Nou. He is reportedly highly regarded by PSG manager Luis Enrique, who coached Torres during his time at Barcelona.

Because Torres is approaching the end of his deal, Barcelona could be forced to accept a reduced fee rather than risk losing him for nothing next year. The player would offer versatility across the front three, fitting Luis Enrique’s tactical flexibility.

Barcola future dominates negotiations

Barcola’s status at Parc des Princes has become increasingly uncertain. The France international has played a secondary role in the club’s recent success, with Khvicha Kvaratskhelia established as the first choice on the left flank. Contract renewal discussions are currently paused while the player competes with France at the World Cup.

Should PSG decide to sell, they have set a valuation of €150 million. Premier League duo Liverpool and Arsenal, alongside Bayern Munich, have all registered interest in the former Lyon academy graduate.

PSG’s attacking overhaul

The potential arrival of Torres forms part of a wider restructuring of Luis Enrique’s forward line. Gonçalo Ramos has already completed a move to AC Milan, whilst Lee Kang-in is expected to join Atlético de Madrid. Randal Kolo Muani has also been cleared to leave.

PSG have secured preliminary agreements with Monaco’s Maghnes Akliouche and Leipzig’s Yan Diomandé, though neither deal has been finalised. Torres represents a contingency plan should Barcola depart, allowing the champions to maintain depth as they defend their domestic and European titles.
