RB Leipzig are once again monitoring Everton winger Tyler Dibling, reigniting interest that first emerged around 18 months ago. According to the Daily Mail, the German club view the England Under-21 international as a potential successor to Yan Diomande, whose future at the Red Bull Arena remains uncertain.
From Southampton to stalled progress
The 20-year-old previously attracted Leipzig’s attention in early 2023, but the move failed to materialise and Dibling instead joined Everton from Southampton last summer. The Toffees invested approximately €40 million to secure his signature, anticipating a significant return on a player highly rated within English football.
However, Dibling’s debut season on Merseyside proved challenging. He managed just 17 appearances across all competitions, failing to register a single goal or assist. Despite arriving with considerable promise, the winger struggled to secure a regular role in the first-team setup during his first campaign at Goodison Park.
Leipzig’s succession planning
The Bundesliga side’s renewed interest appears directly linked to Diomande’s situation. Should the player depart Leipzig, the club have identified Dibling as a candidate to fill the vacancy. This represents a significant vote of confidence in the winger’s potential, despite his difficult first year in the Premier League.
Transfer implications
Any potential deal would present Everton with a complex decision. The club paid a substantial fee for Dibling only 12 months ago and would likely demand significant compensation to sanction a departure, particularly given the player’s age and international pedigree. For now, the interest remains at the monitoring stage, with no formal bid reported.
