Serie A side Roma have reportedly set their sights on Fulham winger Oscar Bobb only six months since he left Manchester City for Craven Cottage.
According to Retesport, the Giallorossi have approached Fulham about the Norway international as they look to strengthen their attacking options before the transfer window closes.
Roma’s hunt for reinforcements
The Italian club have spent months pursuing a wide forward but have seen moves for Mason Greenwood, Crysencio Summerville and Alejandro Garnacho falter. They had also identified fellow Norwegian Antonio Nusa as a target, yet RB Leipzig’s valuation has proven prohibitive.
Now attention has shifted to Bobb, who can operate on either flank or in a deeper central playmaking position. The 22-year-old is left-footed and offers versatility behind the main striker.
He developed through the Manchester City academy after joining in 2019, but found first-team opportunities limited at the Etihad Stadium. This prompted the January switch to Fulham, where he hoped to secure regular Premier League minutes.
Struggles in English football
Bobb’s time in west London has proved difficult. Fulham paid €31.2 million to secure his services, inserting a 20 per cent sell-on clause that would see Manchester City benefit from any future transfer fee.
However, the Norway international has managed 16 appearances across all competitions without registering a goal or an assist. This lack of productivity has not deterred Roma, who see the player as a project capable of revival in Italian football.
The proposed deal holds additional appeal because Bobb’s agency maintains strong ties with the Roman club. This existing relationship could accelerate negotiations, though Fulham may prove reluctant to sell at a loss just half a year after their initial investment.
Transfer implications
Any departure would see Manchester City receive a portion of the fee due to the negotiated sell-on clause. Fulham would lose a squad option capable of covering multiple positions, but may sanction a deal if it allows the club to recoup most of their outlay.
Roma face pressure to complete their business promptly. After failing with multiple primary targets, Bobb represents a viable alternative to solve their creativity issues out wide.
