Pain-Free Progress
Serge Gnabry has delivered a positive update on his rehabilitation from an adductor injury, confirming he is training without discomfort for the first time since April. The Bayern Munich forward has resumed football-specific exercises including passing drills and lateral movements that previously aggravated the problem.
In an interview published on Bayern’s official website, the 30-year-old expressed satisfaction with his current condition. “I can feel I’m making progress with every session,” Gnabry said. “That’s fun. That’s why I’m really looking forward to being back on the pitch, and I’m working very hard to be able to play again as soon as possible.”
The Germany international detailed the physical improvements he has noticed during recent training. “I can feel I’m getting back into top form physically,” he explained. “I’m keen again on doing things I didn’t think I was able to do a few weeks ago: I’ve completed my first few passing exercises again. Or lateral movements – which caused my injury. I’m incorporating these things again now. I’m getting back up to speed, I’m running faster and faster – all these things make me feel really good.”
Supercup Final Target
Gnabry has set his sights on featuring in Bayern Munich’s competitive opener. The Bavarians face Borussia Dortmund in the DFL-Supercup final on August 22.
The fixture serves as the traditional starting point for Germany’s domestic season. Availability for this match would mark a timely return for the winger, who has been sidelined since suffering the muscular problem four months ago.
His rehabilitation has progressed to a stage where he can execute direction changes and explosive movements without restriction. These actions are critical for a wide player whose game relies on acceleration and agility against opposition defenders.
Bayern will assess Gnabry’s fitness during the remaining weeks of pre-season. His return would bolster the attacking unit as the club begins its campaign for silverware.
