Milan secure Modric extension

Luka Modric has committed his future to Milan by signing a contract extension until 2027, the club has announced. The renewal comes as the Rossoneri continue to reshape their squad, having also completed the signing of 20-year-old defender Sankhoun Diawara from Troyes. Footmercato reports that Milan beat Rangers to the French centre-back’s signature. Academy graduate Francesco Camarda has also signed a new deal keeping him at San Siro until 2031, though Gazzetta dello Sport notes that Parma have enquired about both Camarda and fellow prospect Christian Comotto.

Roma and Inter pursue targets

Roma are negotiating to sign winger Antonio Nusa from RB Leipzig after missing out on Crysencio Summerville. The Giallorossi are in discussions with the Norway international’s representatives, with Gazzetta dello Sport and Corriere dello Sport claiming the German club value the 20-year-old at between €55 million and €60 million. Inter, meanwhile, have scheduled talks with Cristian Romero’s agent this week as they target the Tottenham defender, according to Fabrizio Romano.

Juventus and Napoli provide squad updates

Juventus are exploring a loan deal with an option to buy for Tottenham goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario, who was dropped from the London club’s pre-season tour of Asia. Spurs officially cited a minor knock, but the Italian is believed to be surplus to manager Roberto De Zerbi’s requirements. Napoli sporting director Giovanni Manna has confirmed Kevin De Bruyne remains integral to their plans, stating: “He was useful to the team last season until his injury; now he is a Napoli player.” Manna added that midfielder Frank Anguissa is “not for sale,” while striker Romelu Lukaku’s future will be assessed when he returns from holiday. Winger Alessio Zerbin has completed medical tests ahead of a permanent move to Frosinone.

Confirmed deals and collapsed moves

Bologna have secured Argentine defender Mikel Amondarain from Estudiantes La Plata in a permanent deal, Romano reports. Watford are set to sign Iker Bravo, Martin Payero and Jordan Zemura from Udinese, Sky Sport confirms. Parma have also agreed to sign Romanian striker Alessandro Chira from Spezia. In contrast, Lazio defender Alessio Romagnoli has returned to training after his proposed transfer to Al-Sadd collapsed. His agent explained: “The negotiations slowed down, understandably, after the death of the ex-Emir and for reasons based around the war.”
