Venezia are closing in on the signing of Sevilla striker Akor Adams, with sporting director Filippo Antonelli confirming that negotiations are at an advanced stage. The deal is reportedly worth €16 million plus performance-related bonuses.

“The talks are at a very advanced stage, but there are still some final details to work out,” Antonelli told reporters. “I promise that I will tell you everything once it is all closed.”

The Nigeria international, 26, only joined Sevilla from Montpellier in January 2025 for €5.5 million. During the second half of last season, he scored 10 goals and provided three assists in 32 LaLiga appearances. His form has prompted Venezia to move swiftly, with the Serie A newcomers prepared to nearly triple the fee the Spanish club paid just six months ago.

Venezia earned automatic promotion to the Italian top flight after winning the Serie B title last season. The club has acted quickly to strengthen its squad ahead of the step up in class, already securing defenders Albion Rrahmani from Sparta Prague and Armel Bella-Kotchap from Verona, midfielder Ale Gomes from Real Zaragoza, plus free agents Toma Basic and Thierry Correia.

The potential acquisition of Adams represents a significant attacking investment as the Venetians prepare for their return to Serie A. If concluded, the transfer would mark a swift exit from Spain for the forward, who spent only half a season with Sevilla after arriving in January. For Venezia, securing a proven goalscorer appears a crucial element of their strategy to consolidate their position in the top division.
