The former Southampton FC boss has been searching for a new role since his exit from the English club earlier this year. Now, the 31-year-old Anglo-Belgian coach could be set for a move back to France. French side FC Lorient are preparing to fill a vacancy on their bench.
Current manager Olivier Pantaloni has already confirmed he will depart when his contract expires at the end of the campaign. The Breton club have performed better than expected since returning to the top flight. They now seek a new leader to continue their progress.
According to French publication L’Équipe, Still heads the list of potential replacements. The young manager enjoys strong connections with Ligue 1 following previous spells at Stade de Reims and RC Lens. He appears keen to resume his career in the French top division.
Speaking on the television programme Ligue 1 Plus this week, Still discussed his future plans. He admitted he does not yet know where he will work next. However, he expressed hope for a return to France. “It would be great,” he stated. “But I do not control my future. It depends on many factors. I have not ruled out any options, so we must wait and see.”
Still refused to address the specific rumours linking him with the Lorient position. Instead, he complimented Pantaloni for his achievements at the club. He also made it clear that no agreement is currently in place. “Right now, nothing is certain,” he explained. “No contracts are signed.”
