Barcelona boss Hansi Flick has revealed his plans for the summer transfer market. The German manager wants to strengthen his squad with a new striker and a central defender. Reports link the Catalan club with moves for Alessandro Bastoni and Julián Álvarez.

Flick explained that he has held lengthy discussions with Sporting Director Deco about recruitment. “We know exactly what we need,” the coach stated. “We must combine talent from La Masia with world-class players.”

The future of two key attackers remains unclear. Flick will meet with Marcus Rashford and Robert Lewandowski at the campaign’s end. Rashford has expressed a wish to stay, while Lewandowski admits he does not know where he will play next term. “Marcus has given us great numbers,” Flick noted. “Robert has helped me win every title here. We must analyse everything carefully.”

The team has already secured the La Liga trophy. Now they chase 100 points from their final three fixtures, starting with a trip to Alaves. “We must win all three games and play good football,” Flick demanded.

The manager also addressed several squad concerns. He described his decision to drop Jules Koundé for El Clásico as very difficult. He praised Koundé for accepting the choice professionally. Regarding Alejandro Balde, Flick said the left-back has improved but faces strong competition from João Cancelo. “Balde must take the next step in his development,” he added.

Flick highlighted Gavi as a crucial leader within the young group. He said the midfielder’s return from injury raised the quality of every training session. “Gavi is the heart of this team,” Flick declared. He also named Pedri, Eric García, Ronald Araújo, Frenkie de Jong and Raphinha as important leaders.

Flick recently confirmed he will remain at Camp Nou next season. Barcelona face Real Betis on Sunday following their midweek clash with Alaves.
