Como manager Cesc Fabregas has opened the door to a shock move to Real Madrid. The former Spain international, who began his career at Barcelona’s famous La Masia academy, says he would not reject the chance to coach at the Bernabeu.

Speaking to Cadena Cope, Fabregas explained that he holds no grudges against the Madrid giants. “I don’t have a red line,” he stated. “I have never thought about this possibility, but I would not say no.”

The 38-year-old is currently enjoying great success with Italian side Como. He helped them secure a historic first-ever qualification for European competition this season. Fabregas also holds shares in the club and controls their transfer policy.

“I am very happy here,” he said. “I have a contract and I am growing as a coach. I choose the players we sign. This project excites me.”

Fabregas also spoke about managers he respects. He praised Paris Saint-Germain boss Luis Enrique. However, he singled out Real Madrid’s Carlo Ancelotti as the one coach he wishes he had played for. “I love his human approach,” Fabregas added.

The young coach also shared his views on team management. He commented on the recent tension between Xabi Alonso and Vinicius Junior at Real Madrid. Fabregas believes the group must always come before any star.

“No player is bigger than the team,” he said. “If you keep the squad united, you will succeed. Individual problems cannot destroy the group.”

Fabregas confirmed he wants to remain a head coach. He ruled out working as an assistant manager at any club. “That is my only red line,” he confirmed.

Como currently have several players on loan from Real Madrid, including Nico Paz. Fabregas thinks another season in Italy would help the Argentine youngster develop further.
