Teenage sensation Bendeguz Kovacs is drawing serious interest from two of Europe’s heavyweight clubs. The 19-year-old Hungarian striker has emerged as a priority target for both Chelsea and Juventus ahead of the summer transfer window.
Reports from Sky Sport Italia journalist Gianluca Di Marzio suggest that scouts from both the Premier League and Serie A are closely monitoring the centre-forward. The youngster only celebrated his 19th birthday in March, yet he is already making significant waves in the Dutch game.
Kovacs graduated from the prestigious Ajax youth system before joining AZ Alkmaar’s reserve side in January. He has adapted quickly to senior football, scoring eight times in just 14 matches in the Dutch second tier.
Although the forward’s existing contract runs until June 2028, the Eredivisie outfit is racing to secure his long-term future. Club officials fear that a bidding war could erupt if they fail to tie him down to improved terms immediately.
The physically imposing attacker has also caught the eye of his national team coaches. He is expected to receive his first call-up to the senior Hungary squad for friendly fixtures against Finland and Kazakhstan next month.
Should Chelsea win the race for his signature, the deal may involve their sister club Strasbourg. This would fit the London club’s strategy of using their multi-club network to nurture young talent.
