Gor Mahia have secured the 2025/26 FKF Premier League championship without playing a single minute of football. The title victory came on Sunday evening thanks to a crucial result elsewhere in the division.
The K’Ogalo were scheduled to face Mara Sugar on Sunday. However, the Sports Disputes Tribunal (SDT) postponed the fixture due to a disagreement over the venue.
Meanwhile, APS Bomet delivered the decisive result. The team, managed by former Gor Mahia hero Sammy ‘Pamzo’ Omollo, defeated AFC Leopards 2-1 in a tense clash.
This defeat destroyed the felines’ hopes of winning their first league crown since 1998. Philip Wasai scored two goals within three minutes, finding the net in the 60th and 63rd minutes to crush Ingwe’s remaining ambitions.
Daniel Odhiambo scored an own goal in the 87th minute for AFC Leopards. However, this was only a consolation goal. The victory extended APS Bomet’s unbeaten run to eight matches.
