AC Milan have started a major revolution at the San Siro after missing out on key targets this season. The club has fired chief executive Giorgio Furlani and chief scout Geoffrey Moncada, removing almost the entire leadership team. Only club advisor Zlatan Ibrahimovic has kept his job, and he will now play a central role in choosing the next manager.
The Rossoneri want a modern, attack-minded coach who can bring fresh ideas. Former Barcelona boss Xavi Hernandez and current Bournemouth manager Andoni Iraola are the first names on the club’s shortlist. The new boss will need to work closely with Ibrahimovic to rebuild the squad and restore the club to the top of Italian football.
Across Serie A, champions Juventus have also made big changes. The Turin club has fired manager Massimiliano Allegri following a season without trophies and several public controversies. Meanwhile, Lazio have parted ways with their long-serving sporting director Igli Tare.
At Napoli, owner Aurelio De Laurentiis is taking a careful approach to finding a replacement for his previous coach. He is looking at Vincenzo Italiano as a possible choice, but he has also held talks with Thiago Motta about the position.
Juventus owner John Elkann has told his sporting directors that the manager must have a bigger say in transfer decisions. There are also reports of tension involving Italy national team coach Luciano Spalletti.
In Rome, owner Dan Friedkin has praised his manager for securing a top-three finish. The club now plans an ambitious transfer window, with targets including Dodo and Gianluca Scamacca.
Atalanta’s Gian Piero Gasperini and Como’s Cesc Fabregas are both preparing their squads for European matches next season. Torino president Urbano Cairo is thinking about bringing back former coach Giampiero Ventura as a special advisor, though sporting director Gianluca Petrachi prefers younger options like Cristian Abate or Alberto Aquilani for the manager’s job.
