Hoffenheim have submitted a €9.5 million offer to RB Salzburg for Danish forward Adam Daghim, according to reports from Sky and transfer expert Fabrizio Romano. The Bundesliga club are actively seeking to reinforce their attacking options following the high-profile departure of Bazoumana Touré to Newcastle United earlier this summer.
The 20-year-old spent the entirety of last season on loan at VfL Wolfsburg, gaining valuable experience in the German top flight. During his temporary spell, he contributed two goals and four assists in 30 appearances across all competitions. While his goal return remained modest, his versatility and movement appear to have convinced Hoffenheim officials of his potential to make the step up.
Filling the Touré void
Hoffenheim’s urgency in the market stems from losing Bazoumana Touré, who commanded a transfer fee of approximately €50 million when he joined Newcastle United. The Ivory Coast international’s departure left a significant void in the club’s offensive options and prompted the search for replacements.
Daghim operates primarily as a centre-forward but offers flexibility across various attacking positions. His familiarity with German football, acquired during the Wolfsburg loan spell, represents a significant advantage, eliminating the adaptation risks typically associated with recruits from foreign leagues.
Salzburg’s strong position
RB Salzburg face no immediate pressure to accept Hoffenheim’s opening proposal. Daghim remains contracted to the Austrian champions until the summer of 2028, providing the club with substantial leverage in any negotiations. Salzburg have established a reputation for developing young talent and commanding appropriate fees in the transfer market.
