Moise Kean’s agent has approached Como and Fenerbahce to gauge interest in the Fiorentina striker, who is eager to secure Champions League football after a frustrating campaign in Tuscany.

The 26-year-old Italy international endured an injury-disrupted 2025/26 season, managing just nine goals and two assists in 33 competitive appearances for La Viola. According to reports in Italy, his representative is now actively shopping the forward to clubs competing in Europe’s premier competition, with Turkish outlet Fanatik and Italian sources both confirming approaches to the two sides.

Conflicting accounts of approach

There is uncertainty over which party initiated contact. Sky Sport Italia transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio reports that Como representatives contacted Kean’s entourage to test his appetite for the project, though no formal talks have opened with Fiorentina. Conversely, sources close to the player suggest the agent is proactively offering Kean to interested clubs, with Como and Fenerbahce the primary targets.

What remains clear is that Fiorentina do not appear intent on selling. The club hold all the negotiating power after Kean’s €62 million release clause expired on 15 July. The mechanism, which was only valid for clubs outside Italy between 1 and 15 July, can no longer be triggered, meaning any potential suitor must negotiate directly with the Tuscan club.

Champions League imperative

Como’s interest is driven by practical necessity. Having won promotion from Serie B just two seasons ago, the Lombardy outfit are preparing for their maiden Champions League campaign but face a shortage of Italian-qualified players needed to meet UEFA homegrown squad quotas. Kean, who has 13 goals in 26 senior caps for Italy, would simultaneously address this shortfall and add proven top-flight experience.

The striker’s contractual situation complicates any exit. He remains tied to the Stadio Artemio Franchi until June 2029, leaving Fiorentina under no pressure to negotiate. With the release window closed and the club reluctant to deal, Kean may be forced to remain in Florence unless a bidder tables an offer too substantial to refuse.
