The back problem is the latest in a series of injury challenges for the 30-year-old. Rodri has endured two injury-plagued seasons, which included a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament in September 2024 and another injury at the Fifa Club World Cup in July 2025. Last season, hamstring and groin issues limited him to just 17 Premier League starts, highlighting a difficult period for the midfielder.
