FC Bayern Munich’s reserve team have completed the signing of Czechia U17 international Matous Srb from Slavia Prague for a reported fee of €1 million. The forward becomes the first foreign acquisition under new manager Dante, arriving immediately before the side’s Regionalliga opener against Eltersdorf tomorrow.
Dante’s new era
The transfer marks Dante’s first venture into the international market since taking charge of Bayern’s second team. The 42-year-old Brazilian, who secured the treble with Bayern’s senior side as a central defender during his distinguished playing career, retired from professional football last year following a spell at French club OGC Nice. He has transitioned directly into management, tasked with developing young talent within the club’s reserve structure.
Srb represents the first signing from abroad under Dante’s stewardship, underlining the manager’s intent to cast a wide net in search of emerging prospects. The seven-figure fee demonstrates the club’s willingness to invest significantly in youth potential despite competing in Germany’s fourth tier.
Player profile
The teenager arrives with a prolific record at youth international level, having scored seven goals in 16 appearances for Czechia’s U17 side. During the 2025/26 season, he operated across Slavia Prague’s U19 and U20 teams, accumulating valuable minutes against older opponents. His development was further accelerated by three appearances in the UEFA Youth League, exposing him to continental competition before his move to Germany.
Slavia Prague are widely regarded as one of the Czech Republic’s most established clubs, making Srb’s departure for Bayern’s developmental ranks a notable transfer within European youth football circles.
Immediate challenge
Bayern II face a swift introduction to competitive action, hosting Eltersdorf tomorrow as the Regionalliga campaign begins. Srb’s late arrival leaves minimal time for integration with his new teammates, though his prior experience in high-pressure youth tournaments suggests he possesses the necessary composure to adapt quickly.
The move constitutes Srb’s first professional venture outside his native Czech Republic, with the striker now positioned to test himself within one of European football’s most prestigious academy environments.
