Yan Diomande has indicated his willingness to join Real Madrid, clearing the way for the Spanish giants to submit an improved offer after RB Leipzig rejected an initial €100 million approach. The Ivory Coast international is expected to be the subject of a fresh bid as Los Blancos intensify their search for attacking reinforcements.

The 21-year-old has established himself as one of Europe’s most sought-after forwards following a prolific debut season in Germany. Diomande scored 13 goals in the Bundesliga after joining Leipzig from CD Leganés for €20 million, a modest outlay that could now yield substantial profit for the German club. Both Diomande and fellow target Michael Olise remain on extended breaks after representing their countries at the recent World Cup.

Switch of Targets

Real Madrid turned their attention to the Ivorian after encountering a firm rejection from FC Bayern Munich regarding Olise. The Bavarian club refused to entertain any negotiations for the French winger, prompting President Florentino Pérez to pursue alternative options within the same league.

New coach José Mourinho has specifically requested additional pace in the final third. According to transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano, Mourinho indicated his board should recruit “even more speed and fresh legs upfront.” Diomande’s direct running and clinical finishing appear to match this remit perfectly.

PSG and Premier League Rivalry

Paris Saint-Germain had previously occupied pole position in the race for Diomande’s signature, though no agreement has materialised between the French champions and Leipzig. Real Madrid’s entry has significantly altered the transfer landscape, particularly given the player’s openness to a move to the Bernabéu.

Manchester City and Arsenal have also made enquiries in recent days, but the striker is understood to have dismissed their advances. Sources suggest Diomande was not persuaded to consider a switch to English football following contact from the Premier League clubs over the last ten days.

Negotiating Position

RB Leipzig maintain a strong stance having rejected bids from both PSG and Real Madrid. The German side are under no pressure to sell having secured the player for a minimal fee relative to current market valuations. However, Diomande’s desire to join the Spanish club could prove decisive in forthcoming negotiations.

Real Madrid are expected to return with an enhanced proposal as they seek to conclude the deal. With pre-season preparations already underway for most European sides, the clock is ticking for the parties to reach an agreement.
