Diant Ramaj is expected to depart Borussia Dortmund before Deadline Day after the goalkeeper remained in Germany to hold transfer talks rather than travel with the squad on their pre-season tour to Japan.
The 24-year-old has been deliberately excluded from the travelling party to facilitate discussions with interested clubs. According to Sky Germany journalist Florian Plettenberg, Ramaj is in negotiations with a handful of unnamed teams, though it remains completely undecided whether the move will be a permanent transfer or another loan spell.
Ramaj joined Dortmund from Ajax Amsterdam in February 2025, yet his stay at Signal Iduna Park has been brief and nomadic. Immediately after signing, the shot-stopper was sent on loan to FC Copenhagen. He subsequently spent the entirety of last season with 1.FC Heidenheim, where he made 31 Bundesliga appearances and established himself as a regular starter.
Despite proving his capabilities in the German top flight, Ramaj finds himself surplus to requirements upon returning to Dortmund. His absence from the Japan tour effectively confirms he has no future under the current regime, with the club actively facilitating his exit by allowing him to miss the camp.
Discussions are ongoing with potential suitors, leaving the goalkeeper with a decision to make regarding his immediate future. He must weigh whether to push for a permanent transfer that offers long-term stability or accept another temporary move away from Signal Iduna Park.
