Monaco increase offer for Ghedjemis
AS Monaco have reportedly raised their bid for Frosinone winger Fares Ghedjemis as the Italian club hold firm on a valuation close to €20m. The Algeria international has become one of the most sought-after players in the Serie A transfer market following his impressive performances last season.
The 23-year-old, who turns 24 next month, played a crucial role in Frosinone’s promotion to Serie A, scoring 15 goals and providing three assists in 37 Serie B appearances. His form has attracted interest from clubs across Europe, sparking a bidding war that has driven his price up significantly.
Besiktas, Celtic and Rangers in pursuit
Monaco face competition from Turkish side Besiktas, managed by Vincenzo Italiano, as well as Scottish giants Celtic and Glasgow Rangers. All three clubs have submitted offers for the winger, though Frosinone have already rejected several bids from the Scottish pair.
According to Belgian transfer expert Santi Aouna, Besiktas are currently offering the most attractive personal terms to the player. However, sources suggest Ghedjemis would prefer to join Monaco if the French club can meet Frosinone’s demands.
Frosinone hold out for €20m
Frosinone are under no pressure to sell cheaply. They rejected proposals worth €8m in January, and his value has more than doubled since helping the club secure promotion. The Serie A side are content to let interested clubs battle it out, comfortable that the continued interest will maintain or even increase the asking price.
With the transfer window progressing, the next move likely depends on whether Monaco are prepared to match the €20m valuation or if Ghedjemis will reconsider the financial advantages of a move to Besiktas.
