Juventus have tabled a formal contract offer to Franck Kessie as the club seeks to reinforce its midfield options. The Turin giants met with the Ivorian’s representatives on Wednesday to propose a two-year deal containing an option for a third season, worth €4.5 million per year plus additional performance bonuses.
Kessie, 29, is available as a free agent following his departure from Saudi Pro League side Al-Ahli after three seasons. The former Atalanta and AC Milan midfielder is reportedly eager to return to Serie A, where he previously established himself as one of the league’s most robust central players.
Roma rivalry
While Roma have also expressed interest in securing Kessie’s services, Juventus currently lead the chase. Club directors Frederic Massara and Giovanni Carnevali were filmed attending the meeting with the player’s agents, demonstrating concrete commitment to completing the signing.
Midfield restructuring
The pursuit of Kessie forms part of a broader shake-up in Juventus’s engine room. Young midfielder Fabio Miretti has completed a move to Turkish side Besiktas on loan, with the deal containing an option to buy set at approximately €15 million. His departure creates both squad space and financial flexibility for the Bianconeri.
The Italian club have simultaneously shifted focus away from other targets. Fiorentina are now in talks to sign Manchester United striker Joshua Zirkzee on loan with an option to buy, despite the Dutch forward having previously featured prominently on Juventus’s recruitment shortlist.
