Serie A newcomers Monza are making a strong push in the final hours of the transfer window, confirming one signing and reportedly nearing two more significant additions to their squad. The club has officially secured defender Jan Ziolkowski from Roma, while also advancing talks for Boca Juniors forward Exequiel Zeballos and Galatasaray defender Victor Nelsson.
Ziolkowski Arrives from Roma
Monza’s first confirmed move sees Jan Ziolkowski join from fellow Italian side Roma. The defender arrives on a loan deal that includes an option for Monza to make the transfer permanent for a fee of €18 million. Additionally, Roma will retain a 10 per cent sell-on clause, entitling them to a portion of any future transfer fee should Ziolkowski move on from Monza.
Zeballos Deal Progressing Rapidly
Reports suggest Monza has also reached an agreement for the transfer of promising Boca Juniors forward Exequiel Zeballos. The proposed deal is valued at €4 million, with Boca Juniors set to retain a significant 40 per cent stake in any future sale of the player. This move comes as Zeballos’s current contract with the Argentine club is due to expire on 31 December. The forward is reportedly expected to arrive in Italy imminently to undergo a medical examination.
Nelsson Nears Serie A Return
Further bolstering their defensive options, Monza is understood to be close to finalising a deal for Galatasaray centre-back Victor Nelsson. Should the transfer materialise, it would mark a return to Serie A for the Danish defender, who previously had loan spells in the league with both Roma and Hellas Verona. These potential acquisitions highlight Monza’s ambition to strengthen their team following a challenging start to their Serie A campaign, having lost their opening two fixtures of the season.
