Dortmund’s Latest Scouting Mission

Borussia Dortmund have reportedly intensified their interest in Leicester City‘s promising young midfielder, Louis Page. The Bundesliga club dispatched scouts to watch the 18-year-old in action during Leicester’s recent 4-3 League One victory away at Stockport County on Saturday.

This development places Dortmund in direct competition with Manchester United, who have also been closely linked with Page. Manchester United previously held talks with Leicester City regarding a potential transfer for the midfielder during the summer transfer window, though an agreement could not be reached at the time.

Page’s Rapid Ascent at Leicester

Louis Page has quickly emerged as one of Leicester City’s most exciting academy prospects. Having joined the club at Under-9 level, he has steadily progressed through their youth system.

The young midfielder made his senior debut for the Foxes in August 2025, featuring in the Carabao Cup. Last season, he went on to make 20 further appearances across the Championship and FA Cup, showcasing his potential. This term, Page has continued to establish himself around the first team, already recording three assists in his opening five appearances.

European Giants Eye English Talent

The interest from two of Europe’s prominent clubs highlights Page’s growing reputation. Manchester United’s previous attempts to sign the England youth international indicate their long-standing admiration for his abilities.

Borussia Dortmund, meanwhile, have cultivated a strong reputation for identifying and developing young English talent. The German club has successfully integrated players like Jude Bellingham, who arrived from Birmingham City in 2020, into their first team before his high-profile move to Real Madrid. Dortmund also signed Jude’s younger brother, Jobe Bellingham, during the summer, and brought Arsenal youngster Ethan Nwaneri to the club on loan, further cementing their strategy of recruiting promising players from England.

As the transfer window approaches, the competition for Louis Page’s signature is expected to intensify, with both Dortmund and Manchester United keen to secure the services of the highly-rated midfielder.
