Former Argentina international Hernan Crespo believes Inter are the best-equipped team to win the 2026-27 Serie A title. Crespo, who played for both Milan clubs during his career, also highlighted the considerable improvement shown by AC Milan under manager Ruben Amorim.

Both Milan and Inter are scheduled for Serie A action on Wednesday evening. Milan will host Bologna at San Siro, while Inter will play away against Venezia. Both matches are set to kick off at 17:30 GMT (18:30 CET).

Inter’s Title Credentials

Crespo’s assessment places Inter firmly as favourites for the Scudetto. He noted their mental strength, competitive drive, and superior technical qualities as key factors. Currently, Lazio leads the Serie A standings after their recent victory over Sassuolo. However, an Inter win against Venezia would see them draw level on points with Lazio at the top of the table.

Speaking about Inter, Crespo stated, "I think Inter are the best-equipped team to win the Scudetto. By saying that, I don’t mean that they will definitely win it, but they definitely have everything they need to win it." He described Simone Inzaghi’s side as a "battleship" that appears almost impossible to sink in Italy, despite some challenges in European competitions.

Milan’s Progress Under Amorim

Despite Inter’s strong position, Crespo was also impressed by the strides made by AC Milan. The Rossoneri remain unbeaten after eight Serie A matches this season, sitting four points behind their city rivals. Crespo admitted he did not expect such rapid progress from Milan following Ruben Amorim’s appointment over the summer.

He praised Milan’s newfound compactness and their understanding of both defensive and offensive duties. Crespo believes the team possesses good technical players and a supportive fanbase, suggesting they are "destined to grow even further." While acknowledging they are not yet at Inter’s level, he feels the gap is "easy to close," with a strong run of results potentially turning their season around.

Wednesday’s match against Bologna will serve as an important test for Milan’s mental maturity as they look to continue their unbeaten run and close the gap on the league leaders.
