  • Only two matches remain in the French top-flight campaign.

Bruno Genesio has admitted his future at Lille OSC remains unclear. The French manager revealed the club has not approached him about extending his contract, which runs out this summer.

Speaking before Sunday’s clash against AS Monaco, Genesio stated there were “no signs” of a new deal. He suggested his fate might depend on whether the team qualifies for the Champions League.

Lille currently hold fourth position in the Ligue 1 table. They trail Lyon by two points with just two games left to play. Only the top three teams gain automatic entry to next season’s UEFA Champions League group stage.

Reports indicate the club’s hierarchy wishes to hire a foreign coach for the upcoming campaign. This news emerged despite Genesio guiding Les Dogues to within reach of Europe’s premier competition.

The former Olympique Lyonnais and Stade Rennais boss joined Lille with the task of maintaining their competitive status. However, it appears the board seeks fresh leadership regardless of the final league position.
