FC Bayern Munich capped their campaign with silverware following a dominant 3-0 victory over VfB Stuttgart in the DFB-Pokal final on Saturday. Harry Kane stole the show with a stunning hat-trick under the lights at the Olympiastadion.
The England skipper opened the scoring before netting two more to complete his treble. The win secured the domestic cup for Bayern and provided a fitting end to their season.
After the final whistle, Kane admitted he had eagerly awaited the showcase event. “I was looking forward to this final so much. I have heard a lot about it from other players. It is such a special game and a special way to end a great season,” he said.
Stuttgart made life difficult for Bayern during the early stages. However, Kane praised his side’s resilience. “The atmosphere was incredible tonight. It was a tough game at the start, but we are Bayern Munich. We always find a way. We grow stronger during matches and we showed our quality tonight,” he explained.
The striker believes his opening goal shifted the momentum. “My first goal was the turning point. It is so important to score first. The second goal sealed the match for us. The third was just the cherry on top. These are moments I will remember forever,” Kane added.
Despite questions about his long-term future in Munich, Kane insists his focus is on celebrations and the World Cup. “Tonight is not the night to talk about my future. I feel extremely comfortable here. Now I look forward to the World Cup and celebrating this trophy. We will discuss contracts after that,” he concluded.
