Napoli have decided to sell goalkeeper Vanja Milinkovic-Savic after just one season, triggering a complex reshuffle involving Juventus and Tottenham Hotspur. The decision has placed the Serbian international on the market and drawn immediate interest from Turin, while simultaneously pushing both Italian clubs toward a shared target in North London.

Milinkovic-Savic Exit Opens Door

The Partenopei have resolved to move the keeper on, creating an urgent need for a replacement between the posts. Juventus are monitoring his situation closely, with Luciano Spalletti known to admire his proficiency with the ball at his feet. This technical quality makes Milinkovic-Savic an attractive fit for Spalletti’s system, giving the Bianconeri a clear incentive to pursue the deal should they miss out on other options.

Milinkovic-Savic arrived in Naples with expectations of establishing himself as first choice, but the club’s change of direction now leaves him searching for a new destination. Juventus represent a viable path, particularly as they reassess their own goalkeeper hierarchy ahead of the new campaign.

Vicario Becomes Central Target

To fill the void left by Milinkovic-Savic’s departure, Massimiliano Allegri has identified Guglielmo Vicario as his preferred number one. The Tottenham goalkeeper has fallen out of favour in North London and is available for approximately €15 million, a fee Spurs are willing to negotiate downward to finalise a transfer.

Yet Napoli face stiff competition from Juventus for Vicario’s signature. The Turin side view him as a more financially viable alternative to their primary target, Emiliano Martinez. Juventus’s pursuit of Martinez has cooled considerably in recent weeks due to the excessive cost of the operation, placing them in direct competition with Napoli for the former Empoli stopper.

Interlinked Deals Accelerate

The goalkeeper market has therefore become a tactical triangle. Napoli must sell before they buy, while Juventus weigh whether to recruit Milinkovic-Savic from their rivals or challenge them for Vicario. Financial constraints dominate the discussions; Juventus cannot meet Martinez’s valuation, forcing them to focus on the Tottenham keeper or the Napoli outcast.

With Tottenham eager to offload Vicario and Napoli determined to refresh their squad under Allegri’s direction, these interconnected deals are expected to accelerate as pre-season approaches. The resolution of Milinkovic-Savic’s future will likely determine which club secures Vicario’s services.
