TSG Hoffenheim have loaned goalkeeper Nahuel Noll to SC Paderborn for the forthcoming Bundesliga campaign, handing the 23-year-old an opportunity to establish himself in Germany’s top flight.
The newly promoted Westphalian club confirmed the season-long arrangement this week, securing a shot-stopper who spent the previous term on loan with 2. Bundesliga outfit Hannover 96.
Development-Focused Move
Noll, who extended his contract with Hoffenheim last summer, arrives at the Benteler-Arena with a mandate to gain consistent Bundesliga minutes. Sporting director Paul Pajduch endorsed the switch, citing the supportive environment that Paderborn provides for emerging talent.
Speaking on the transfer, Pajduch said: “Nahuel improved again in his second season in the second division and, as the starting goalkeeper for Hannover 96. We are both convinced that the loan to the newly promoted Bundesliga side is exactly the right step to compete at the highest level week after week.”
He added: “SC Paderborn is also known for providing a supportive environment for players to develop. Nahuel can take the next steps in his development there, thus recommending himself for even bigger challenges and hopefully helping the loan club achieve its sporting goals.”
Career Trajectory
The Argentine-born keeper has been on Hoffenheim’s books since 2021, gradually progressing through the club’s youth structure before senior loan spells. His temporary relocation to Lower Saxony with Hannover last season offered valuable second-tier experience, appearing as the club’s first-choice between the posts.
Now, Noll faces the step up to Bundesliga football with a Paderborn side preparing for life back in the top division. The loan represents a mutually beneficial arrangement: Hoffenheim retain a promising prospect under long-term contract whilst Paderborn acquire a hungry young goalkeeper eager to prove himself at the highest domestic level.
The deal contains no purchase option mentioned in official communications, suggesting Hoffenheim view Noll as part of their future plans pending a successful campaign in the Westphalian region.
