Adrien Rabiot has met with his mother and agent Veronique in the United States as the Milan midfielder considers his future amid reported interest from Napoli.
The France international is currently in the US for international duty, with the meeting taking place over the weekend to discuss potential options for the 2026-27 season. The 30-year-old is weighing up his prospects ahead of Les Bleus’ World Cup commitments, with any definitive decision expected only after the tournament concludes.
The discussions come following a disappointing end to the 2025-26 campaign for Milan, who missed out on Champions League qualification under former coach Massimiliano Allegri.
Milan determined to keep midfielder
Despite the speculation, Milan have no intention of parting with Rabiot. The Rossoneri brought the Frenchman to San Siro from Marseille last year and he remains under contract until the summer of 2028.
New head coach Ruben Amorim is reportedly keen to build his midfield around Rabiot, who contributed five goals and six assists in the league during the 2025-26 campaign. Milan consider him one of their most consistent performers from last season.
Napoli and Allegri connection
Napoli have emerged as potential suitors, with head coach Massimiliano Allegri reportedly eager to reunite with the player. The pair previously worked together at Juventus before Allegri brought Rabiot to Milan from Marseille.
Allegri departed Milan at the end of the 2025-26 season following the club’s failure to secure European football, subsequently taking charge at Napoli. Italian outlets suggest he views Rabiot as a key target to strengthen his new side.
Player’s stance
According to reports from Italy, Rabiot is not currently intending to leave Milan, conscious of the two years remaining on his lucrative deal. However, sources indicate that nothing can be ruled out should Napoli present an enticing offer for both the player and the club.
Rabiot is expected to delay any definitive decision regarding his future until France’s World Cup campaign concludes. The situation remains fluid as the midfielder balances his international responsibilities with domestic transfer speculation.
