Besiktas have entered the race to sign Juventus winger Nico Gonzalez and are prepared to table a loan offer with an option to buy. The Turkish club, managed by former Fiorentina coach Vincenzo Italiano, see the Argentine as a priority target alongside Serbia striker Dusan Vlahovic.
Juventus are willing to offload the 28-year-old as they seek to generate funds for further additions before the transfer window shuts. However, the Bianconeri would prefer an outright sale rather than a temporary arrangement. Gonzalez is reportedly not part of head coach Luciano Spalletti’s plans for the upcoming campaign and was notably absent when the club presented its fringe players, including Arthur and Arkadiusz Milik, to supporters at the Allianz Stadium last weekend.
The winger returned to Turin this summer after Atletico Madrid opted against making his loan spell permanent, despite the Spanish club initially showing interest in retaining him. Reports indicate Diego Simeone’s side continue working to bring Gonzalez back to the Metropolitano, adding competition for his signature. Serie A rivals Napoli and Milan have also been linked with moves for the Argentine international as they look to strengthen their attacking options.
A switch to Istanbul would reunite Gonzalez with two former colleagues. He previously shared 42 appearances with Vlahovic across spells at Fiorentina and Juventus, developing an on-field understanding with the striker. More significantly, he would work again with Italiano, having produced some of his best form under the Italian coach in Tuscany. During his time at Fiorentina, Gonzalez scored 25 goals and provided 14 assists in 86 appearances.
Gonzalez resumed individual training at Juventus’ Continassa facility on 13 August following his World Cup commitments. With multiple clubs monitoring his situation and Juventus open to proposals, the winger appears set to depart Turin before the deadline.
