Dusan Vlahovic could keep Juventus and Besiktas waiting until late July before deciding his future, even though his contract with the Italian club expires on June 30. The Serbia international will become a free agent next week after failing to respond to the Bianconeri’s renewal proposal, yet he appears willing to remain patient rather than rush into a commitment.
Juventus have presented a one-year extension worth €8 million per season, but the 26-year-old and his representatives have maintained silence on the offer. This stand-off creates an effective ultimatum with days remaining on his current deal, which Juventus secured for €85 million from Fiorentina in January 2022.
Besiktas bid and Italiano factor
Besiktas currently stand as Vlahovic’s only concrete alternative, prepared to invest approximately €30 million across wages, signing bonus and agent fees. The Turkish club have offered a contract worth €10 million per season alongside a €5 million signing bonus, significantly exceeding Juventus’s financial package.
Their pursuit is led by new head coach Vincenzo Italiano, under whom Vlahovic enjoyed his most prolific goalscoring campaign at Fiorentina. However, according to Sports Digitale, Vlahovic has indicated to the Istanbul club that he could wait until late July before making a final choice, testing their patience despite Italiano’s personal outreach.
Limited European interest
Despite early speculation linking Bayern Munich and Barcelona with a free transfer move, La Gazzetta dello Sport reports that neither club has made a formal approach. This lack of alternatives leaves Vlahovic choosing between Juventus’s reduced terms and Besiktas’s lucrative project, unless his delayed decision yields fresh interest next month.
Juventus plan B
The Turin giants are not relying solely on retaining their forward. They remain in negotiations for Paris Saint-Germain’s Randal Kolo Muani, lining up the French international as a replacement should Vlahovic exit. With the striker’s departure increasingly likely, Juventus are actively securing alternatives rather than waiting indefinitely on his response.
